Translation of poem

[edit]
Sicilian English
Un pedi di castagna A chestnut tree
tantu grossu was so large
ca ccu li rami so' forma un paracqua   that its branches formed a shelter
sutta di cui si riparò di l'acqua, under which refuge was sought from the rain
di fùrmini, e saitti from thunder bolts and flashes of lightning
la riggina Giuvanna by Queen Joanne
ccu centu cavaleri, with a hundred knights
quannu ppi visitari Mungibeddu when on her way to Mt Etna
vinni surprisa di lu timpurali. was taken by surprise by a fierce storm.
D'allura si chiamò From then on so was it named
st'àrvulu situatu 'ntra 'na valli this very tree nestled in a valley
lu gran castagnu d'i centu cavalli. the great chestnut tree of one hundred horses.

Username change to capital A

[edit]

What you're looking for is WP:CHU/U. As long as you created the other account (does it have an email set up on it that they can confirm with you?) then there will be no problem. Orderinchaos 09:09, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pippu, I recommend you just go to User:WJBscribe and explain the situation with the two accounts as he is the crat who has been doing a lot of prep work for SUL and I think he'll be able to sort it out for you. Sarah 13:51, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken care of this for you; please see Wikipedia talk:Changing username/Assistance#Small query. — Dan | talk 17:06, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Cheers — Dan | talk 22:25, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your note, Pippu. I'm glad that you were able to get it sorted out. All the best, Sarah 17:01, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template

[edit]

In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Pippu d'Angelo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Jon Ballantyne (Australian rules footballer) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hey Pippu! Are you still active on Wikipedia? I've been working on some research around a few topics of Sicilian interest and I was wondering if you'd like to collaborate on getting these sources onto some of these articles.

For example today I found the text of the 1848 Revolutionary Proclamation in Sicily, as well as the National Anthem of the 1848 Kingdom of Sicily in some primary sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paolorausch (talkcontribs) 08:29, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cadèmia Siciliana

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.--Vituzzu (talk) 11:42, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
